The event was not only a showcase of this vibrant sport, but got the public at large to participate and "Get Involved", the tag line to the event. Star Sports and Channel V, a music channel, were the media partners to the event.

The tournament featured Asia's hottest trio - Australia, New Zealand and Japan, including other top Asian sides like India, Thailand, Philippines, Bahrain, Korea, Malaysia and Hong Kong. The event finale played host to over 3,000 spectators - cementing Chowpatty's name and fame in history as the largest beach party to be held in India.
